Vocabulary-

Hypothesis- an if then statement. An educated guess or a starting point.

Data gathering- researching to find out something by Internet resource or testing.

Multiple trials- trying multiple approaches at finding the answers to your questions

Variance- this measures how far a set of numbers would be spread out

Average- adding up all of the numbers, and then dividing it by how many numbers there are.

Median- the middle number of a list of numbers.

Mode- the most frequent number in a list.

Histogram- a graph representing date

Pie chart- a circle chart cut into pieces that look like pie to split up data.

Inference- a conclusion that is based on evidence and reasoning.



The question that are lab group was asking was the amount of yellow M&M's in are bag. We created a hypothesis that there would be 10 yellow M&Ms. There were actually only 10 in the bag; therefore, are original hypothesis was proved wrong by the actual results.
